When it comes to at-home workouts, you need to K.Y.O.A.
Kick Your Own Ass.
No one else is there to do it for you. No trainer, no instructor, no one. When the workout gets too easy (which it WILL eventually, whether your following DVD’s or other workout plans), it’s up to you to keep the challenge up.
Increase your weights, try the harder modifications, get DEEP into your moves, go faster, jump higher, add more resistance, tighten your muscles etc. We tend to get lazy when we’re on our own, so make sure you’re asking yourself whether or not you can push harder. It’s not about the length of the workout: forget adding time! Boost your intensity!
It feels REALLY good to feel the workouts get easier, but don’t get too comfortable or you’ll lose out when it comes down to results. Step out of your comfort zone and kick your own ass a little!

You’d surprise yourself by what you can actually do, trust me! The proof is in the pudding. It’s not the workouts that work. YOU do. Keep challenging yourself as you get fitter. :) (K.Y.O.A - not bad advice for those of you tackling the Weekend Workout!) |
